Fashion Focus: Sangria is New Color of Fall

Updated: May 27

The endless amount of pumpkin spice lattes and falling leaves can only mean one thing: autumn is here and dressing for the season is crucial. According to the Fall of 2014 Pantone Color Report, the color to wear this season is Sangria. Similar to a raspberry shade, Sangria is a blend of an exotic red and purple that looks fantastic on anyone. The color makes brown eyes look richer and blue eyes look brighter.

A couple of cute ideas to easily incorporate this eye catching color into your wardrobe is using it as a nail color; it’s classy and simple and does not need to be changed with every outfit. A Sangria-colored scarf worn with any non-print blouse or long-sleeved tee is the perfect addition for a night out as well.

Even incorporating Sangria into your makeup can make a statement. Sangria lipstick or gloss can be found anywhere; even Sangria eyeshadow can be used to create a smoky eye. To create the smoky eye look, use Sangria-colored eye shadow to cover the base lid and blend dark grey or black shadow into the outer crease. To finish the perfect autumn look, add a light shimmer shadow in the corner of the eye and the brow bone and top off with mascara.

Dressing for the season can be difficult, but when such a great color is in style, there is no reason to worry. Adding this bright color to your outfit can transform an everyday outfit into an impeccable fall look.
