Florida’s Strangest Arrests

By: Ariel Brittain

Florida: the home of Disney World, Universal, Sea World and some really weird arrests.

In Palm City, a drunken man named Matthew Falkner was arrested for trying to use a taco as a valid ID. The man fell asleep with his foot on the accelerator and his car in park, causing a fire in the drive-through of Taco Bell. The police officer asked Falkner for some sort of identification to which he replied with a taco. He was later charged with a DUI.

In Collier County, 49-year-old Dawn Elizabeth Rhash attacked her roommate with butter. According to the Florida State Police, they were “having an argument about what food was hers and what was his.” Rhash threw a stick of butter at his leg in a fit of anger. She refused to make a statement, but it is known that she had consumed an unknown amount of vodka before the attack. She was charged with misdemeanor battery.

In Bradenton, 18-year-old Charles Ross was arrested outside a movie theater for giving wedgies to those who passed by him. This YouTube prankster was released on a $750 bond. “It was a joke I was playing,” he said in response to the charge. “It doesn’t mean it’s OK, what I was doing. I think it was fair.” Ross continues to make his videos.
