Iron Man Helps Disabled Boy Get New, Improved Arm

By: Ariel Brittain

When most people think of Iron Man, they think of the actor behind the character, Robert Downey, Jr., but one little boy in central Florida truly thinks of him as his savior. The boy’s name is Alex Pring, and he is missing his right arm just below the elbow.

Then came “Tony Stark” to save the day, and Alex was then given his very own “Iron Man” robotic arm. The mechanics behind the arm are credited to a volunteer group named Limbitness Solutions, who use 3D printing technology to create free biotic arms for children like Alex.

So the 7-year-old and the world-renowned actor met in a hotel room and that was where the magic happened. They even compared the blinking lights at the center of their robotic arms.

Their adorable, or should I say mechanical, relationship is bound to continue as Downey promised little Alex to visit him when he’s filming the new Captain America movie this summer.

Now the boy will no longer have to deal with the constant teasing and personal questioning he’s been through.Well, not as long as his schoolmates think the arm is real.
